KØBENHAVN / LOUISIANA

Copenhaguen has not been kind to me. It was raining all the time. Like, ALL THE TIME. I was thinking staying longer but I've decided to come back on my way home, in July. You hear me sun, JULY! Don't disappoint me! I've stayed for a day and a half, though. I've walk around like it was not raining and when it was too much, I had coffee in nice places. And at night, I had lunch at the delicious Mother, an awesome pizza place in the Meatpacking District (Høkerboderne 9). It was like being back in Brooklyn.
I went to Louisiana too. It's a modern art museum on the coast, a little bit north from Copenhaguen. The place is just beautifull, with a view on the see. The museum is lost in the middle of trees, there's a beautiful garden full of sculptures. And the exhibitions were great to. I've discovered Hilma af Klint, a female swedish painter from the early 20th century, pioneer in abstract art.
And then i've crossed the Oresund bridge between Copenhaguen and Malmö! I'm in Sweden! I've shouted from happiness, alone in the truck! I'm actually in Lund, at my dear friend Stephanie's cute appartment! I will visit Malmö and the area from here. Danemark was rainy and not really planned, I have the feeling that I was always in the car and haven't seen much. But Sweden will be slower and I'll take time. Denmark was just a warm up!

SKAGEN

I'm leaving early. Let's go to Skagen, the most nothern city of Denmark. I drive almost three hours. I'm thinking a lot. I have the feeling not to see anythings but roads. What a crazy idea to do this. It's raining since hours. And then, I arrive to Skagen. The rain stops. A piece of blue sky. I cross a dune and i discover the landscape. The sand disapear in the see. It's just so beautiful. It is worth every hours of driving under the rain. I picnic under the sun. Well, rain will chase me at some point, but it was awesome.

I leave after for Ebeltoft, where I'll take a boat straight to the island where Copenhague is (thanks Ditte for the tip). I'm saving quite a lot of driving hours. Once I arrived, i drive in Copenhagen's direction and end up in a camping 30 kilometers from the city.

Can't wait to be tomorrow and to finally discover the city !

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Je me demande quelle idée j'ai eu de me lancer là dedans.

Demain, Copenhague. J'ai hâte de découvrir cette ville.

DITTE

So, my phone died. I'm freaking out, of course. And I got stuck really deep in the sand, trying to leave the beach. I've been helped by five people, pushing the truck to get me out of here (and everything in German). After this nice morning, just problems. I decide to go to Esbjerg, Just because the name on the map is written big enough that I shouldn't have troubles finding wifi. I finally find a coffee place to connect. And then, Ditte starts to talk to me. She is sitting just next to me with a frien and she can feel that I'm a little bit panicked (just a little). She says that she can give me a old phone so I can at least call. And I find myself dining at her place, with her three children. And I'll stay for the night too. We're going out at night, just the two of us, from bar to bar, trying to find me a danish husband so I could stay in Esbjerg forever. We laugh a lot, we talk, we tell each other our lives (Ditte's one is crazy, by the way). My new danish best friend. Incredible meeting and absolute generosity. With my phone incident, nothing would have happened. And if I was not travelling alone either.

I stay at Ditte's the next morning. Awesome breakfast, of course. A little bit of internet. We have coffee and watch the beginning of Eurovision. We hug, tell eatch other that we have to meet again, and I leave. I'm going north. I'm stopping from time to time to take pictures in small towns with names I can't even pronounce (Ringkøbing, Oddesund). But I'm really frustrated because I could stop every two kilometers. And at the same time, I feel like I'm not going fast enough. It's already the 10th. I don't have any deadline but I have to keep moving foward. I want to have the time to really enjoy Norway.

I'll spent the night (under the rain) in Hanstholm.

Je me rends à Esbjerg.

I've spent the night in Ribe, an old an cute city, on a parking with other RVs. Early walk in the city, going to the bakery to buy partries and small breads. Then I drove to Rømø, an desert island where you can drive on the sand. I had coffee on the beach. And then mobile problems (it has actually woken up during the evening, it's a miracle). What comes after is incredible, but I'll tell you more later !

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
